Random Rantings

Its been a long long time since I (we) blogged. Seems to be out of it, of sorts, recently. Stopped gaming that much, stopped blogging, less cooking, no excercise... Wonder where it...

Maybe laziness settled in again. There are still things to be done to the house... Fences/Gates, moving electric circuit board, repairing my magna after I scratched it, insulating the roof for summer, weeding and mowing the garden... and some other stuff. Who says you'll get board here!!!

Work is a challenge everyday as well. I still like what I do, but some days are harder than others. I get into this mood where I wished I was not a knowledge worker sometimes. I wished I could be a drone sometimes and do repatitive things.

But these are just my random thoughts. I'm not sad, depressed or anything... I still thank God everyday for His blessing upon my family and where we are today. Without His help I might still be a struggling 'IT' professional trying to earn a living contracting here and there...

The drug called INTERNET

Ahh... I've got 6 PCs all connected (1 desktop 5 laptops) in my home network with INTERNET!!! My teamspeak server is up and I've got a new 2.5' 30GB external HDD... Everything is groovy!

I've been deprived of virtual connectivity for the past 2 months.. Ever since we moved into this new place... No ADSL... 'cos the exchange ports were full and I had to wait in line to get mine... so I ended up getting the flaky iBurst... good for portability but not for gaming... sigh. Now I've got to sell it at eBay hopefully can at least get half back...

4) Results of search on failure.

Try it... before Google rectifies this.

As a person who knows web development, I was looking at the source of the result and searching through how the logic would work to GET this result. There is none!! The word FAILURE does not appear anywhere on the site not even meta keyword tags. So either its a bug/hack or done purposefully.

Those other net gurus out there... Any better explanation?

Peking Duck

mervin had a craving for peking duck last night and i remembered a friend commenting that there is a restuarant selling very good peking duck so i brought him there. it was also my birthday dinner. kill two birds with one stone. funnily, i was the one to bring us to the chinese restuarant for MY birthday dinner.

anywayz, the peking duck was really very good. expensive of course. we spent $66 bucks on a peking duck, a noodle dish and a deep fried ice-cream. we had so much peking duck such that mervin said he is going to stay away from it for quite a while.

mervin had peking duck in vienna and he said that that was no way close to the one we had last night. yummy..

Forgiveness

Recently, some close friends of ours were having some serious relationship problems. I felt particularly burdened and sad for them. Thoughts were shared and some made me feel very unworthy and little before God. i felt that i can never be forgiven for the wrong things that i have done and they will stay with me for the rest of my life. i couldn't find peace and all i have in my heart was guilt, sadness and darkness.

My dear sister, angela, was sharing some thoughts of hers and encouragements she received from God on her blog and she unknowingly encourages me. she wrote, 'All I can say is, God knows. The world may misunderstand me, but God knows. He searches and sees the innermost part of our hearts. He’s fair and just. He’s also full of grace and compassion for His children, for little me.And where the world keeps telling me that i’m not enough this or that… God loves me, as-is, where-is, just as i am.'

Service to the Lord

kevin, lynette and i were involved in the back up singing in the worship team during sunday service.

it is wonderful to be able to serve the Lord in this manner again. it is just wonderful.

26th Birthday

we had a quick celebration of mervin's 26th birthday on sunday.

jean and phil brought their 2 boys and they absolutely loved the place. almost tore down the place with their laughter and their running up and down. jean brought over some jelly and custard from christian's birthday party (saturday).

kevin and lynette brought baked rice and also their housemate, bee leng.

serene got so lost coz she was using the 2001 referdex and our street was non existent back then. it was so funny.

we had pizzas from dominos.

i made an ice-cream cake and realised that we had no candles at home so i stuck a tea light into the ice-cream cake and made mervin blow the 'candle'.

we had a mini karoke session and it was pretty fun.

will post the pixs up.... eventually.

i have an exam in a couple of hours' time.... back to studying.

He's BACK!!!

yes, mervin is back.. finally...
