Books Galore
i love to read.
when i was young, we could not afford new books. mum would bring me to the library and we would bring back 12 books every week to read. each person is entitled to 4 books. there were 4 persons in my family and so even though dad has never stepped into the library up till i was an adult, he has borrowed from the national library, countless children' books by then.
but i have seldom buy books. i always find them too expensive. i either borrow them from the library or rent them from the rental bookstore.
i missed reading since i started work. just didn't have time.
anyway, i finally stepped into Koorong, a Christian bookstore, just before Christmas. was thinking of getting some good books as Christmas presents.
i stepped out $80 bucks less in my purse. and 7 books in my bag. very satisfied.
7 books as presents. one each to each parent-in-law. one for mervin. the rest 4 as presents for myself.
1. Captivating - John & Stasi Eldredge
2. The Sacred Romance - Brent Curtis & John Eldredge
3. Come Thirsty - Max Lucado
4. Chronicles of the Cross (No Wonder They Call Him Saviour; Six Hours One Friday; And the Angels Were Silent) - Max Lucado
5. Wild At Heart - John Eldredge - for mervin
6. Healing is A Choice - for mum-in-law
7. God's Promises For Men - for dad-in-law
i finally started on one book and i am hooked. reminded me how much i love to read.
